about the role

We are looking for a Senior Urban Planning Consultant with an appetite to grow with the business and work on a variety of planning projects including large scale greenfield residential subdivisions, infill developments, industrial estates, commercial/retail developments, planning scheme amendments and Local Government overload. This role will provide an opportunity and exposure to work on behalf of significant developers, Local Government Authorities and State Government Agencies.

The primary purpose of this position is to carry out tasks to assist/manage the delivery of SPOT Planning projects. These tasks will include (amongst others):

  • Due diligence and site investigation

  • Preparation of planning permit applications

  • Planning scheme amendments submissions

  • Independently project manage development files

  • Liaising and negotiating with councils and referral authorities

  • Preparation of Fee Proposals for potential projects

  • Preparation of Tender Submissions

  • Any other duties as reasonably required

The suitable candidate should :

  • Hold a Masters Degree in Urban Planning

  • Have a minimum of 6+ year of industry experience within Local Government or Private Consulting within Victoria

  • Have demonstrated experience independently managing planning applications

  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient time/project management abilities

  • Customer service focused to enhance client relationships

  • Have experience using Adobe Suite

We are open to full time and part time applicants and are happy to negotiate flexible working arrangements for the suitable candidate. Salary is negotiable and subject to level of experience.
